The only two games that the SPF girl’s soccer team lost the entire season were in the first 4 games of the season. Outside of those 4 games, they avenged an early season loss to Westfield not only once, but twice to the tune of 3-0 and 1-0. Throughout the season, SPF outscored opponents 37-6 and recorded shutouts in 14 games of the season. Ranked #16 in the Star Ledger’s top 20 going into the state final match with unranked West Morris (12-7-3), the score ended after 100 minutes tied at 2. Tied for the most goals scored against them the entire season, SPF fell in shootout, just one goal shy of a state championship. Though the season did not end in a state championship, they took home a county championship against archrival Westfield, beating the Blue Devils 1-0 in the final.
