SCOTCH PLAINS POLICE DEPARTMENT - POLICE ACTIVITY

3/10 - A resident of Park Ave. reported being a victim of a Theft.  He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed an IPOD valued at approximately $200.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

3/10 - Luis Gonzalez Age. 30 of Livingston Ave. Elizabeth N.J. was arrested for Theft.  A resident on Mary Ellen Lane sated she observed a painter take ear rings from her bedroom while he was painting.  The ear rings were valued at approximately $200.  She contacted the police who responded to the scene and questioned the painter.  The painter, later Id as Gonzalez admitted to taking the ear rings and turned them over to the police. He was arrested and taken to H.Q. where he was processed and released after posting $2,500 in bail.

3/10 - A resident of West Broad St.  reported being a victim of Harassment.  She stated that she has been receiving numerous calls from an ex-friend.

3/11 - A resident of Morse Ave. reported being a victim of Fraud.  She stated that unknown suspect(s) made approximately $10,000 in purchases on her credit card without her authorization.

3/12 - Alexander Rivera Age. 43 of Ron Rd. Hazlet N.J. was arrested for a $1,000 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court.  Off. Lavery stopped Rivera for a motor vehicle violation on East Second St. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

3/13 - A resident of Route 22. reported being a victim of a Theft. She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle which was parked in the driveway.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed a GPS valued at approximately $350.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

3/13 - Jared Turner Age. 27 of Wedgewood way Scotch Plains N.J. was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Off. Von Langen stopped Turner for a motor vehicle violation on Lamberts Mill Rd. and while speaking with him he observed the Marijuana.  He was arrested and transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

3/15 - Megan Decristoforo Age. 32 of Miller Ave. Clark N.J. was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.  Off. Aversa stopped Decristoforo for a motor vehicle violation on Westfield Rd. and while speaking with her he observed the Marijuana.  She was placed under arrest and transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released. 

3/16 - A resident of Cook Ave. reported being a victim of Fraud.  She stated she received a call from an unknown suspect who requested her social security number and date of birth so that he could process a loan.   The Vitim did not provide the information.
