Scotch Plains Issues Parking Restrictions
Monday, February 17, 2014 • 6:30pm
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - The accumulation of snow has forced the township to issue new restrictions on parking that will go into effect on Tuesday.
The township's statement states that restrictions will exist on the following streets:
- Homestead Terrace - No Parking on South side of street (side
furthest from Brunner) from its intersection with Westfield Ave
to Muir Terr.
- Cedar Street - This area is designated for SPFHS permit parking. Parking will be restricted from the entrance to the senior lot to the entrance to the Board of Education lot. Students assigned to this area will have to park further down Cedar St.
These restrictions will be in place until the DPW has had a chance to remove snow and widen the travel lanes.
Both areas will be clearly marked "No Parking - Police Emergency." Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and removed.
Please use extreme caution around our schools tomorrow. Some crosswalks have not been cleared and many of our access roads to schools will be narrowed and difficult to navigate.
Motorists are urged to be extra vigilant and be very patient while driving through our school crosswalks. Crossing Guards may be difficult to see around the snow banks.
To report potentially dangerous issues our police can be reached at 908-322-7100 (0pt #7). For a true emergency, please call 911.
