Scotch Plains-Fanwood H.S. Repertory Theatre to Stage 'How to Succeed in Business' in March

Sunday, February 2, 2014 • 6:00am

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Repertory Theatre’s spring production How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying tells the story of J. Pierrepont Finch, a young, ambitious window-washer who uses a little book called "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" to rapidly climb the corporate ladder in 1961 New York City. This musical, which features a musical score by Guys and Dolls composer Frank Loesser, satirizes the corporate world of yesterday and today, with a touch of romance and lots of laughs along the way.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying enjoyed a recent successful revival starring Daniel Radcliffe in 2012 and was nominated for nine Tonys.

Director Matthew Capodicasa returns following last year’s production of The Wedding Singer.  Matthew graduated SPFHS in 2005, and NYU’s Tisch School of Arts in 2009.

Jan Allen, Choral Director at the high school, returns as producer and music director, with choreographer Jennifer DiGiuseppe, an SPFHS alumna and recent graduate from the University of New Hampshire, joining the team.

Joanne Sprague, Rep Theatre’s costume designer for the past several years returns, along with Durand Thomas as the Pit Band Director.

Performances will be held on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 15 at 8 p.m., Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m., Friday, March 21 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 22 at 8 p.m.  All take place at the Manya Ungar Memorial Auditorium at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, 667 Westfield Road, Scotch Plains. Ticket information will be announced in February.
