SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – James J. Meehan, Executive Director of the Rahway Valley Sewerage Authority Public Private Partnership attended the Scotch Plains Council Conference meeting held on October 1, 2012 to address various concerns.
Meehan answered questions regarding possible tax increases in the future and addressed what was being done regarding the current operation, maintenance, and management of the sludge dewatering and sludge drying facilities. He assured the meeting that the operations were on track to ensure the proper treatment of the water, and that the water being put back into the Rahway River was actually cleaner than the natural water.
Other agenda items included the deferral of an application for a Special Use Permit by Bigg Playdate, 1730 East Second Street to October 16 for failure to provide a floor plan, and it was announced that Vincent Losavio of John’s Meat Market will replace Steve Goldberg in the residence spot on the Special Improvement District Board.
