Saturday, Oct. 13 Fanwood Performance Series Feature’s Two Artists
Friday, October 12, 2012 • 2:00pm
FANWOOD, NJ - Eric Harrison will be the opening act for October’s Fanwood Performance Series show on Saturday October 13, at 7PM.
Eric is a singer-songwriter from Fanwood who has released eight albums on his own label. His two most obvious influences are his two biggest heroes, Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello. Twenty years of performing in packed clubs and empty coffee houses alike have molded Eric into an exciting live performer with a sense of humility and humor rarely seen in the crowded field of (over-) sensitive singer-songwriters.
Please check out his web site for much more information at www.ericharrisonmusic.com.
Headlining Saturday Night will be a wonderful performer who played the very first show back in 1999, Roia Rafieyan. She was so well liked that they brought her back for an encore performance. (www.roiamusic.com).
She has the vocal stylings of a Carole King or a Joni Mitchell and the quirky songwriting style of a Christine Lavin or a Dar Williams. Despite her kvetching while at the microphone (it's all part of the act), she is a beacon of positive energy in a bleak world. Roia has learned a valuable lesson in life: If you can't laugh at yourself, then for God's sake pay a therapist until you can, because you ought to be able to by now!
Refreshments will be available for sale, during the intermissions, with Snapple providing beverages and Nick’s Pizza and Deli will be adding some of their favorite appetizers and pizza samples to the usual home made goodies
Come and experience two great performances in a historic setting right in your own back yard! Suggested donation is $10, $5 for seniors and students.
