WEST CALDWELL, NJ - This Saturday, residents from around the West Essex area are welcome to attend James Caldwell High School’s performance centered event called “The Music 5K.” The musical gathering begins at 4pm and goes throughout the evening until 9pm and takes place at the school’s Center for Performing Arts as well as in the Cafeteria. A full offering of musical selections under the direction of Mr. Scott Chamberlain will be presented from the James Caldwell High School Music Department’s vocal and instrumental ensembles. The school is located at 265 Westville Avenue in West Caldwell.
The event is a fundraiser for the JCHS Music and More Booster Club which, among other things, provides scholarships to JCHS music and theatre students. It used to be called “The Music Marathon” and went from noon to midnight. Several years ago the format was changed to a five hour event; hence the “Music 5K.” Performances will begin in the JCHS Center for Performing Arts and will move to the JCHS Cafeteria where food and beverages can be purchased and enjoyed throughout the remainder of the evening.
