SAGE Eldercare to Provide Day of Pampering to Caregivers
Friday, April 20, 2012 • 6:38am
What: SAGE Eldercare will be hosting an R&R day for local caregivers as part of their support to local families and caregivers. Highlights include: laughter yoga, manicures, chair massages, guided meditation, yoga exercise classes, nutrition classes, and more. The program includes lunch for registrants, as well as on-site respite care, if required.
Who: SAGE Eldercare in Summit is inviting anyone – wives, daughters, sons, partners, fathers, nieces, brothers, neighbors – who cares for an elderly loved one to get their own day of pampering. SAGE supports the independence, well-being and quality of life of older adults, their families and caregivers by offering a broad range of client-centered health, social and support services.
Why: Approximately 44 million American families and friends provide unpaid care to another adult, sometimes around the clock. These caregivers provide approximately 80% of the long-term care in the US – this day is for those caregivers in the surrounding area who deserve a break.
Who Should Attend: Local press and photographers who wish to cover this event.
When: Saturday, May 5, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit; free parking is available in our lot (if full, street meter parking is usually available)
