SUMMIT, NJ—SAGE Eldercare announces its spring growth goal to raise $65,000 toward the overall 2012 Annual Fund. SAGE Eldercare is a community-based, non-profit organization like no other in New Jersey. The Annual Fund helps to support essential programs and services which older adults, caregivers and their families have come to depend on.
By the end of 2012, SAGE is striving to provide 70,000 hours of personal care to HomeCare clients, 43,000 Meals On Wheels to homebound area seniors, 6,600 days of care for older adults in their Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center, personalized care plans for 200 older adults through GPS (Guidance Planning and Support) Services, and much more.
“One of the most difficult decisions a family may have to make,” says Dawn Knill, Director of Development, “is how to provide care for a loved one when they can no longer live independently. Determining what type of care best fits their needs is time-consuming, emotional, and often requires consultation with medical and eldercare professionals. SAGE is here to help.”
Through generous community support, SAGE Eldercare has served older adults, their families and caregivers for more than 58 years with programs and services such as HomeCare, Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center, Meals On Wheels, Grocery Shopping and Errand Service, Bill Paying Service, Small Home Repair Service, as well as educational programs, Medicare counseling, health screenings and support groups.
To keep these important programs either free or affordable for seniors, SAGE relies on community support. Every donation to SAGE goes directly toward developing new programs and services, and toward allowing access to all seniors, regardless of their ability to pay.
SAGE Eldercare is a stand-alone organization with no connection to a national parent organization. A donation to SAGE’s Annual Fund directly impacts the lives of seniors and their caregivers in Union, Essex, Morris and Somerset counties. SAGE is located at 290 Broad Street, Summit. Please consider a tax-deductible contribution to support the independence, well-being and quality-of-life of seniors and their families.
