Route 22 Business Broken Into

2/10                      Sharon Gallagher, 53, of Front St. Scotch Plains was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  Off. Redling stopped Gallagher for a motor vehicle violation on Tussel Lane and while speaking with her he smelled a strong odor of alcohol.  After Gallagher failed several field sobriety tests she was placed under arrest.  She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.

 

2/10                      A resident of Gary Court reported being a victim of Harassment.  He stated that an unknown suspect(s) keeps texting her asking for money.

 

2/11                      Nicholas DiCanto, 45, of South Ave. Plainfield was arrested for a $710 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court.  Off. B. Belford stopped DiCanto for a motor vehicle violation on East Second St and discovered the warrant.  DiCanto was placed under arrest and transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

 

2/12                      A resident of Carri Farm Ct. reported being victim of a Theft.  She stated that she had a party and an unknown suspect(s) removed several items from their house. The items were worth approximately $450.

 

2/12                      A resident of Westfield Ave. reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief.  She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) broke a window in her house.

 

2/14                     The manager of a Route 22 business reported being a victim of a Burglary. He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his business. Entrance was gained by smashing the glass of the front door. Once inside, the suspect(s) removed an undetermined amount of cash.

 

2/14                      A resident of Park Ave. reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that he received a bill from a phone company for approximately $700 for charges that he did not make. 

 

2/15                      A resident of Golf St. reported that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) hit his vehicle and drove away.  The vehicle was legally parked in front of his house when it was struck.       

 

2/16                      Evan Aspell, 24, of Laurie Court, Scotch Plains was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Off. Von Langen stopped Aspell for a motor vehicle violation on Martine Ave. and while speaking with him he smelled a strong odor of alcohol.  After Aspell failed several field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest. He was arrested and transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.
