ROSELAND, NJ - During Roseland’s Storytelling Toastmasters Club March event, the audience will hear from special guest speaker, Thomas Tsilionis, Councilman from the Borough of Roseland, who will talk about the importance of communication skills for today’s professionals. The club is extending an invitation to the public to attend their free Open House and meet members on Saturday, March 23; the event will be located at the Roseland Public Library, at 20 Roseland Avenue, from 9am to 12pm.

After hearing from Tsilionis, members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, “Table Topics” (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.

Toastmasters International was founded in 1924 and is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of over 13,500  member clubs.

“Storytelling Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” stated Louise Cluett-Thoresen, Club President for Roseland’s Storytelling Toastmasters Club 8143.

Club Secretary and Treasurer Linda Bogner will be the Table Topics master. “Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says Bogner: “This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”
