Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ties To Berkeley Heights
Thursday, December 5, 2013 • 10:33am
NEW YORK, NY - The Dec. 4 Rockefeller Tree lighting marked the 14th year that Berkeley Heights resident, Rick Froio of Atlas-Acon Electric Service Corp. has illuminated America's famously celebrated tree in Rockefeller Center. The 45,000 multi-colored LED lights shine all season long behind the work of Froio and Atlas-Acon.
Just before 9 p.m., the crowd began the count down as Mayor Michael Bloomberg flicked the switch and the 76-foot Christmas Tree lit up Manhattan without a hitch.
Councilwoman Jeanne Kingsley and her family enjoyed the Rockefeller Center behind the scenes tour by Froio and the evening celebration filled with live musical performances by Mary J. Blige, Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, Leona Lewis, Lauren Alaina and the Rockettes.
Since 2009, Froio has generously brought the same splendor to Berkeley Heights by decorating the Little Flower Tree with 4,000 lights that glow throughout the Christmas season. Little Flower Church invites the community to their tree lighting and caroling celebration on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m at 110 Roosevelt Avenue, Berkeley Heights.
