WEST ORANGE, NJ - On September 26, Mayor Parisi stopped by the Pour House Pub and Grub and joined with family, friends and local officials to cut the ribbon on a business that has quickly grown to become a local favorite.

Owner Anthony D'agostino is a Jersey native that grew up in Bloomfield.  He got into the bar and restaurant business as a bartender at the age of 18 and worked his way into management.  For the past 23 years, D'agostino has operated night clubs and bars in the North Jersey area. He recently added the Pour House to his list of successful operations.  Recognizing that a welcoming environment that also provides different types of entertainment  is the key to a strong customer base, D'agostino noted, "Patrons can go anywhere for a beer and a shot and it will taste the same. We do not sell secret potions -- what makes a patron come back is if they feel like it is their bar, and if they're entertained while they're here...all of their troubles disappear, even for just a few short hours."

Dagostino is proud of his team and is willing to train staff, even his bartenders. "When I hire someone, I don't care if they don't have any experience.  I actually prefer that. This way we can train them and have them grow with us."

The Downtown West Orange Alliance is working with the Pour House to provide unique West Orange memorabilia as part of their decor, including old fashioned light fixtures, prints and other interesting Edison related artifacts.  D'agostino also likes Steam Punk and hopes to integrate some of that into the ambience of the pub as well.

Anthony D'agostino is excited to be part of  the redevelopment effort in downtown West Orange.  "I think West Orange is about to enter a new chapter in its history with all the exciting redevelopment and I feel so lucky to own a business that's right in the middle of it. I couldn't have asked for a better town to own a business in and the people are fantastic. I think it's great that the town has a Mayor that has such great vision and really knows how to put life back into a downtown area. I love working with the Town, especially Megan Brill and Mike Brick from the Dowtown Alliance, who are making the Mayors Vision a reality."

The Pour House Pub & Grub is located at 178 Main Street in West Orange.  They opened in October, 2012, featuring lunch specials for Edison National Historical Park visitors; skee ball, billiards, karoake, big screen TVs, and FREE pizza every day.
