Revel brings in Latin Quarter Show; EGO Lounge brings in Jets players; Charlie Manuel at the Tropicana: Philly Art Museum offers free college day

Revel Casino Hotel announces the opening of the stage production The Latin Quarter Show, a sexy and fun Latin themed variety show, presented exclusively at The Social at Revel, Thursdays through Sundays, beginning October 10 and running through December 1, 2013.
The Latin Quarter Show features a talented, sexy, fun cast of amazing Flamenco dancers, dramatic Gauchos, a heart-stopping crossbow act, award winning ballroom dancers, mind blowing quick change artists, gorgeous production show dancers, and a hilarious host comedian, all framed with stunning multimedia. This highly entertaining, fast-paced revue celebrates the Latin culture as staged through the eyes of dance and variety, only at The Social.
Performances will take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 5 & 8 pm, Saturdays & Sundays at 2, 5, & 8 pm. Tickets are $25 and go on sale September 27 at 10am. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com and by calling 800-745-3000.
The Jets are in Tennessee this weekend but football fans can catch the action with gridiron legends and more at Ego Bar and Lounge. Four former New York Jets players Freeman McNeil, Fred Baxter, Bobby Jackson and Randy Beverly will be at Trump Taj Mahal on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 3pm to 5pm where they will pose for pictures and sign autographs. Also appearing will be the New York Jets Flight Crew Cheerleaders who will also be posing for pictures and giving away T-shirts, hats, jerseys and more! Kick-off for the game is 4pm. Admission to Ego Bar & Lounge is free.
Freeman McNeil was a running back selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 1981 NFL Draft. He played 12 seasons for the Jets from 1981 – 1992. From the mid to late 1980s he was a member of the Jets' "Two Headed Monster" backfield. When McNeil retired, he was the Jets all-time leading rusher with 8,074 yards; he currently ranks second in Jets team history. In 1982, McNeil led the NFL in rushing with 786 yards. He is one of a few running backs in NFL history to average 4.0 yards per carry in every season he played.
Randy Beverly was a cornerback who signed as a rookie free agent with the New York Jets in 1967. He became the first player ever to record two interceptions in a Super Bowl during Super Bowl III against Baltimore.
Fred Baxter was a tight end selected by the New York Jets in the 5th round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played in the NFL for 11 years.
Bobby Jackson was a cornerback selected by the New York Jets in the 6th round of the 1978 NFL Draft. Named to the “AFC All-Rookie Team”, Jackson started all 16 games at cornerback his rookie year and tied for the team lead with five interceptions. Jackson was named “HBO Defensive Player of the Week” for his play in a game against Minnesota in 1982. Jackson was also named the Jets’ defensive captain in the 1981 season and “All Pro” by Pro Football Weekly Magazine. He retired with 21 career interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries and was selected to the “All – Time Jet Team” as one of the top three corners in the history of the New York Jets.
Former Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel, known as “Uncle Cholly” to legions of admirers, will make a special appearance at Tropicana Casino & Resort Atlantic City’s Showroom on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
The winningest manager in Phillies team history will share memories and experiences from his coaching days. Audience members will enjoy the chance to get their questions answered by Manuel himself. To many area fans, Charlie Manuel will be remembered as a Philadelphia legend. After a successful playing career, he became an MLB coach and manager, managing the Philadelphia Phillies from 2005 to 2013. He took the Phillies to a championship title during the 2008 World Series. With a second trip to the World Series and five straight division titles, Manuel secured his supreme status in the Philadelphia sports world.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is offering free admission to college students as part of Campus Philly College Day on Saturday, September 28, 2013. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., students (with valid college ID) can explore the Museum’s Main Building with more than 200 galleries of permanent collections and special exhibitions, as well as the Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building across the street and the nearby Rodin Museum.
Inside the Museum, The Great Stair Hall will be transformed into a “student lounge,” where
students can mix and mingle and pause between masterpieces. Students visiting the museum can also win a variety of prizes, including a set of art books, free admission tickets and more by filling out a raffle ticket. In addition to the raffle tickets, every picture tagged #PMACollegeDay is a second chance to win and students are encouraged to follow @philamuseum.
“We are delighted to welcome the Philadelphia region’s new and returning students to College Day, which has been a proud tradition for the Museum for 27 years,” said Marla Shoemaker, the Kathleen C. Sherrerd Senior Curator of Education. “And, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give these students the chance to discover our galleries and learn about our special exhibitions and year round programming, including Pay What You Wish Wednesday Nights and Art After 5 Friday evening performances.”
College Day festivities featuring food, music, recreational activities, giveaways and information centers will be located at the base of the steps on the Museum’s East Terrace. Museum Staff and interns from area colleges including Temple, Lincoln, Villanova, Penn State, University of Pennsylvania, La Salle and Montgomery County Community College will be on hand with information about current and upcoming exhibitions, events, special programs and memberships, including a special introductory Six-Month Student Membership for $20, valid from October 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014.
