Resident Says Buteas Will Bring Pride to Mayor's Office

Friday, August 29, 2014 • 12:00am

Dear Editor,

Every so often a person comes along to run for public office who is indeed special and who can re-instill pride and a sense of purpose in government. Generally, those names are written large in the history books, but they also appear in small communities all across our country. Here in South Plainfield we are witnessing the emergence of one of these leaders.

Chrissy Buteas will bring pride and performance to the Mayor’s office and the same hard work ethic and desire for consensus and broad-stroke solutions that she has had her entire life. A lifelong member of our community, we have seen her grow from a scholar and scholar-athlete, to a leader in government and business; and this is just the beginning. In talking with Chrissy, you can see an intellect and an ability to understand the nuances of government and the issues that impact our borough that belie her age, but which comes from a lifetime of learning and watching others in our community.

If you haven’t had the chance to meet Chrissy Buteas, I strongly encourage you to do so. Let her tell you in her own words about her vision for South Plainfield. You will discover that her caring and polite nature comes from the heart. I couldn’t be happier to know she is running for Mayor. And I couldn't be happier that she's a product of South Plainfield through and through.

Sincerely

Meredith Kalman
Lifelong South Plainfield Resident
