Resident Reports Jewelry Stolen from Residence

12-21-2011 – A resident of South Street reported that her engagement ring and wedding band had been stolen from the master bedroom of her residence.  Upon further investigation, three gold bracelets were also stolen from the residence.  Detectives are investigating the case and have identified the suspect and charges are pending.

1-5-2012 – Patrolman Chad Wilson arrested Joseph Budis, 62, of New Providence on an outstanding warrant from the Borough.  He was released with a pending court date.

1-6-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Tammy Dalto, 47, of Berkeley Heights with Driving While Intoxicated and for an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.  The charges stem from Ms. Dalto operating her vehicle on Mountain Avenue with her headlamps off at 8:42 PM.  Ms. Dalto was also charged with Reckless Driving, operating a motor vehicle with headlights off during the time required and utilizing a handheld device.  She was released to a friend with a pending court date.

1-7-2012 – Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Tony Williams, 43, of Chatham on an outstanding warrant out of Newark.  He was also charged with operating a vehicle while his license was suspended and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

1-7-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Pedro Fuentes-Aguila, 65, Jersey City on outstanding warrants from several municipalities.  During the motor vehicle stop on South Street for an equipment violation, Mr. Fuentes-Aguila did not provide Patrolman Diamond with his correct personal information in an attempt to avoid the warrants.  He was charged with hindering apprehension.  He was unable to post bail and was transported to the Union County Jail.

1-8-2012 – Corporal Daniel Henn reported that during his routine patrol that someone had caused graffiti damage to the rear of a building on Springfield Avenue. 

1-9-2012 – A resident of Hampshire Drive reported that a briefcase containing a lap top computer was stolen from her vehicle sometime during the weekend while it was parked in front of her residence.
