RENEGADE TO HOLD SELF-DEFENSE SEMINAR
TO BENEFIT BATTERED WOMEN
Renegade Training Center will hold a special seminar for men and women at their Watchung location on Saturday, January 11, 2014, focusing on self-defense. The two-hour seminar, “Smart, Strong and Aware“, will be led by Paul Miller at 10:00 am. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women.
Mr. Miller, a kettlebell and self-defense specialist at Renegade, recently retired from the New Jersey State Police as a Captain. He has held numerous titles at the New Jersey State Police Academy, including Physical Training Coordinator. He was also a member of the elite TEAMS Unit for seven years. He has trained with and received instruction from several elite military units including YAMAM in Israel. He holds a New Jersey Police Training Commission Physical Training Instructor certification.
“If you want to learn how to protect yourself in potentially unsafe situations, don’t miss this seminar,” said Jared Ferruggia, owner of Renegade. “Captain Paul has great expertise in this area and as Renegade members know, he is a very engaging and energetic speaker. He will focus on awareness and show you how to defend yourself against common attacks and fight back, emphasizing instinctive movements, practical techniques and realistic scenarios. We promise you a very informative afternoon.”
Renegade Training Center, established in 1994, is a strength and conditioning facility located at 453 Watchung Avenue in Watchung. It offers group and personal training and combines the best of Olympic and power lifting techniques, active circuit training, gymnastics and mobility work for high school athletes and adults.
