Reeves-Reed Arboretum Designated to Test SumaGrow Bio Soil Enhancers, Inc.' Announces Local Test Site for Environmentally Safe Microbial Product
Tuesday, August 24, 2010 • 12:06pm
Peter Grant, Director of Horticulture and Site Preservation will apply the initial test application of SumaGrow, Monday, May 10th at 10:00 am at the Arboretum. The public is invited. The two areas being tested are a grouping of rhododendrons and two areas of turf. Lou Elwell, co-founder of Bio Soil Enhancers, Inc says "the goal of this type of product is to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides by building the health of the soil instead of feeding the plants. Chemical fertilizers lead to more damage, less resistance, and environmental pollution. Pesticides are toxic to not only the pests, but also to beneficial organisms and wildlife." This type of product promotes growth by enabling plants to use atmospheric nitrogen and helps plants become more disease resistant. Mr. Elwell will be at the Arboretum on the 10th for the test and will be available to answer questions.
SumaGrow has demonstrated the ability to increase crop yields by 20+% while decreasing fertilizer usage from 50-100% thereby significantly increasing profits for farmers. SumaGrow is organic, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. Additionally, it increases crop nutrient quality and decreases other inputs such as water and pesticides on all crops, in a variety of growing conditions.
