Are you ready for some football? With spring rains just beginning and the winter’s snow barely melted from our memories, it may seem an odd question. But, the Pop Warner local league known as the Methacton Warriors thinks you should be asking yourself that very question.

The league has its online registration up and running, and signing up for the fall season could not be easier.

“Log onto our website and click on the green ‘Register Now’ button,” said a recent release from the organization. “You can register online and either pay with a credit card or by check.”

Those registering for the season must use a 2014 form, which is available online, as Pop Warner requires it.

Prices are $150 per player, but will go up on June 1 to $200, so early registration is encouraged. The league has already announced its coaching staff for the new year. Coaches will include:

·      Flag Coach:  Harvey Scribner

·      70lb Coach:  Larry Doyle

·      80lb Coach:  Bob Maro

·      90lb Coach:  Mike Rebar

·      105lb Coach:  Brian Moriarity

·      120lb Coach:   TBD

·      145lb Coach:   TBD

Those hoping to assist can speak to the head coaches directly. All coaches, head and assistant, must do the league’s background check.

“The head coaches will notify their assistant coaches,” said the Warrior release. “Please get your background checks done now, as they are good for the year.”

To obtain a background check, visit the league’s website here and click under the “Coaches tab” on the left side of the page. Once completed, background checks should be forwarded to the Shawna Rondeau via email at secretary@mwarriors.org. “Please do not send the control number alone,” said the league’s release. “We need the form showing the seal. Please also let Shawna know which team/squad you are with as an assistant.
