Morristown, NJ- Thanks to Randolph resident Wendy Whiting, some guest families staying in the Homeless Solutions transitional housing facility in Morris Township recently received a gift of new dishware.

A local grocery store ran a promotion from the late fall through January, and shoppers could earn free dishware based on their spending.  Whiting was aware that many families residing in the Homeless Solutions transitional housing facility are often in need of basic household supplies, such as dishes, so she organized a collection.

Friends and neighbors not interested in the dishware for themselves pooled their dish stamps in order to earn dishes for these families in need. In total, Whiting and her family organized and redeemed enough dish stamps to donate 20 place settings!

On Thursday, Feb. 20, Whiting delivered the dishware to the Homeless Solutions transitional housing facility. The dishes will be given to guest families, and each family will be able to take the dishware with them when they return to independent living.
