Randolph Residents Starring in Film Showing in Both Montclair and Hoboken Film Festivals

RANDOLPH, NJ- "Failure Groupies" has been selected to show at the Montclair Film Festival on Sunday, May 4 at 7:45 p.m. along with 5 other shorts in a 90 minute presentation entitled NJ SHORTS: THE UNEXPECTED. It was also selected to screen at The Hoboken International Film Festival on June 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Middleton, NY.
Angus Costello, Samara Fishkin, Neelam Joshi, Morgan Miller, Sydney Sieb, Allyson Stevens, Rosalie Tenseth and Vishwas from Randolph along with Danny Davis of Flanders and Arya Gartside-Vats and Jermaine Small both of NYC are all in the short film FAILURE GROUPIES produced by local film company, Boy With Stick Productions.
Out of 1,500 submitted films, Hoboken accepts less than 10% of the films it receives for consideration. The Montclair film festival tickets are on stand-by basis at this time due to ticket sales being high. The festival recommends that if you plan on trying to do standby to get to the location at least 45 minutes ahead of showtime and they release the remaining tickets 10 minutes prior to the showing. FAILURE GROUPIES is a dark comedy short film that centers around 5 tween-agers who fail at a group project and set up a spy mission in attempt to get their temperamental teacher fired.
The film is directed by Mandira Chauhan, who Tenseth met at The Garden State Film Festival when they both were screening their previous films in 2013. FAILURE GROUPIES was shot on a Red Scarlet camera by cinematographer, Rodin Hamidi, who was awarded the grand prize of the international competition “Global Democracy Video Challenge” for his short film The Path, which was screened at the Director's Guild as well as United Nations in New York City. Editor, Sofi Marshall and composer Brian McOmber both have multiple Sundance and Tribeca credits and Brian has also had multiple films at Cannes.
Mandira Chauhan's film THE GRAVEYARD SHIFT earned awards in the 2013 film festival season and she has other films in festival circuit at this time. Tenseth, the writer/produce who also plays Larson, the cop, has been on 30 ROCK, LAW AND ORDER, ED and most recently on the hit web-series HIGH MAINTENANCE. She is also the owner of The Acting Academy in Randolph.
The film was shot at a private residence in in Randolph and at Holy Family School in Florham Park, NJ. In the school scenes at Holy Family there were 30 Morris County residents performing as background performers.
