Randolph Police Department Reinstates Blotter

Nov 9, Darcy Arriaza, 37, of Elizabeth was arrested for an outstanding warrant in Linden and Randolph. Det. Sgt Keith Donovan and Officer Robert Coyle picked up Arriaza in Linden and transported her to the Morris County Correctional Facility where she was lodged in default of bail.
Nov 9, Officer Sean Verbist responded to Arthur Lane for a report of a damaged mailbox.
Nov 10, Lt Jeffrey Gomez took a report of an Apple IPhone 5 that was stolen at K-Mart while the victim was shopping. The victim phoned the phone on the counter. The victim had left the store and then realized that she had left the phone. Investigation to continue.
Nov 11, Officer Jeff Goral responded to Lake Shore Dr S for a report of a damaged mailbox.
Nov 11, Officer Robert Coyle responded to 698 Millbrook Ave for the report of a fire. The Randolph Fire Department was already on scene. Randolph Fire Chief Kevin Dunn advised Officer Coyle that there was smoke coming from the basement of the residence. Randolph Fire Units entered the building and discovered that the smoke was coming from the building’s furnace. They extinguished the flames and turned off the furnace. Randolph fire inspector Rich Briant stated that the fire was contained to the furnace and that there was no other damage. The fire was caused by a mechanical malfunction and that nothing suspicious was found.
Nov 13 Det. Sgt Keith Donovan responded to Cleanway Car Wash located on So. Salem St. for the report of a theft of services. A customer received a car wash service valued at $34.99 but fled before paying for it. The owner was able to get the license plate. Investigation to continue.
Nov 16- Arrested: Anthony Blas 22 Years Old, Mt Arlington NJ. at 02:19, officers were dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident on School house Rd, at the intersection of Lamalfa Rd. Upon the arrival of P.O. Matt Rispoli, he found a 2005 Honda Civic had struck a telephone pole head on. Subsequent to the investigation, Mr. Blas was arrested for suspicion of DWI. Mr. Blas had minor injuries due to the crash. There were also 4 passengers in the vehicle, none of whom were injured. Mr. Blas was transported to police headquarters for further investigation. Mr. Blas was ultimately charged with DWI, Reckless driving, and failure to keep right. He was released pending a court appearance.
