Randolph Chamber of Commerce Helps Local Businesses Thrive

RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon last Thursday July 17 at La Strada resturant in Randolph. The theme of this meeting was to raise money for Hope House, a Dover based not-for-profit that offers social services to those in need in the Morris County area. A small circle networking session which broke the attendees down into three groups helped connect local businesses leaders to each other.
Together, by donating gift cards and checks, the Chamber raised approximately $1,000 dollars at the luncheon that was sponsored by Dave Evans of Nisivoccia LLP. In leiu of paying the typical lunch fee, members were asked to donate $25 or more to the collection. Anyone who did, had their typical lunch fee paid for by Nisivoccia.
Member of 15 years and President of the Chamber for the last two, Lou Nisivoccia, was pleased with the turnout for the luncheon.
“The Chamber, with Dave Evans’ assistance, has been supporting Hope House for over 20 years now,” said Nisivoccia; he also added that the Chamber typically has a fundraiser for Hope House twice a year, in July and a Holiday luncheon in December.
The Chamber of Commerce typically holds lunch meetings once a month, and hosts a social networking happy hour once per quarter. The Chamber helps local businesses get information out about their services, while providing each other with local resources and helping them to connect with one another. Small local business can be critical to helping a community thrive, and the Chamber is a place where they can come together to work towards the common good of serving the Randolph community.
Ronald DeFilippis of Mills & DeFilippis Certified Public Accountants, LLP has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber for the past year while his company has been involved in the Chamber for over a decade.
“The benefits come from getting our firm some recognition among the businesses in the chamber, letting people know what we specialize in and learning what services our fellow members provide that we may need from time to time,” said DeFillipis.
Many of the businesses in the chamber use one another’s services, or after developing good relationships at the meetings, they can then make an informative recommendation to those in need of that particular service.
“Chamber membership has been a great way to get to know and network with other local business owners,” said Nisivoccia.
