Public Celebrations Committee Awards Donations to Fire Department and Rescue Squad

At the Monday, Borough Council meeting, the South Plainfield Public Celebrations Committee presented both the South Plainfield Rescue Squad and the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department with donations made from vendors at the 56th Annual Labor Day Festivities held at the Middle School. A total of $2,150.00 in donations was collected with $1,250.00 going to the South Plainfield Rescue Squad and $825.00 going to the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department.

John Sorrentino, Chairman of the Committee, made the presentation and thanked the Committee members for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Mr. Sorrentino mentioned the Committee starts planning for the Labor Day Festivities in January of each year with wrap up meetings until November. The Committee members also commended and thanked Councilperson Derryck White for his continual assistance and support.
