PATERSON, NJ - City officials are considering converting Clark Street between Ward and Market streets a one-way street. Under the proposal, traffic would be allowed to go from Market towards Ward.
The change would improve traffic safety at the intersection of Clark and Market, according to the city. It would also allow additional parking on Clark Street, says the ordinanc proposing the change. At present, the parking meters on the east side of Clark street are inactive abd no parking is allowed on that side of the street.
Clark already is one-way between Ward and DeGrasse streets.
The city council is scheduled to take a preliminary vote on the change at its meeting on February 14. If that passes, a public hearing and final vote will be scheduled.
