SUMMIT, NJ - The City of Summit Department of Community Services has announced the reopening of Promenade Park to foot traffic, effective immediately.

Since concrete that was poured recently is still curing, tables and chairs will not be placed until late July.  In approximately two weeks, a contractor will apply a second treatment to add color and sealant to the concrete surface.  During that process, the Promenade will be closed again for approximately two days.

The contractor is scheduled to install plantings, remove the port-a-potty, and clean up remaining construction debris later this week.

The restoration project is being funded by grants from the Summit Area Development Corporation (SADC), Summit Area Public Foundation (SAPF), and through private donations from local businesses and individuals.

To make a tax-deductible contribution to the project, send your contribution to SADC, PO Box 299 Summit, NJ, 07901-0299.
