WEST ORANGE, NJ - Jim Luce, the Rahway producer responsible for bringing the Roots and Ribs Festival of Music and Food to The Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center in West Orange, N.J. has canceled the remainder of the music series due to lack of sponsorship funds.

Luce announced his exit to the New Jersey Arts Incubator on July 16th, following a deadline set by the nonprofit’s board of trustees for artist engagement agreements and proof of financial resources to continue his season. The request came after Luce had been unable to meet his financial obligations for several productions and the nonprofit was left to pick up his show-related expenses.

It was to include The Van Cliburn Winners, The OSPAC Guitar Festival, John Beasley, Geri Allen, Saar and Steph, Zach Brock, The Cookers, Joel Fan, Metropolitan Klezmer, Samadhi, the Mulgrew Miller Piano Festival and Adam Rudolph Moving Pictures.Ticket holders for all Roots and Ribs productions are to contact Brown Paper Tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com or email info@njai.org to obtain a full refund.

Both parties agreed the termination of the deal allowed NJAI to begin to fill the vacancies created by the cancellation of the Luce productions.
