BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Primrose School of Berkeley Heights drew a large crowd for their Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, Aug. 23 at their newly constructed building on Springfield Avenue.

Primrose School of Berkeley Heights is a dream come true for franchise owners, Amina and Asanka Gunaratne,  who have been on a long 10-year journey in opening this premier child care and early education school. "We worked tirelessly to bring this school to Berkeley Heights," said Amina.

Amina and Asanka, along with their two sons and extended family, shared their joy as they cut the ribbon to launch their dreams.

The management team and full staff were on hand to answer questions and provide tours.

"I have a really great opportunity to have a quality educational program, a quality care program," Amina had told TAP into Berkeley Heights. "I fundamentally believe in the Primrose experience. I know we offer a premier experience to this community and I know these families need that."

The school is licensed for 200 children with enrollment numbers steadily climbing.

"We saw a couple of different daycares," said Bonnie, whose child is enrolled in the 12-18 month old class. "The educational program really attracted us to here." She also likes that Primrose sections their classrooms to a smaller age range than other care centers.

Primrose Schools' classrooms and playgrounds are designed to be age appropriate and  provide an early educational and caring experience to children starting at six weeks old through kindergarten, as well as after school care.

"Education of our children is so important -- the children are our future," said Jo Kirchner, Primrose President and CEO. "Early childhood education has such a tremendous impact, in not just what they will know when they grow up because early education gives children an incredible foundation, but who they are." Kirchner referenced the character building values that are imbedded in the Primrose curriculum.

"We can build beautiful schools, but a beautiful building doesn't deliver quality early education -- these people do," said Kirschner of the school's management team and staff.

Primrose School of Berkeley Heights joins a national family of accredited early education and care schools for children, families and communities with a balanced approach to nurturing "Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts."
