Primrose School at Mountainside demonstrated its commitment to making a difference in the communities it serves this week. On Saturday, June 21, the school held a Spring Fling fundraiser to help raise awareness and raise money for worthwhile causes. This year’s event raised over $2300, which will be split between The Paul Jackson Fund , a local charity that support families in crisis, and the Primrose Children’s Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that supports organizations that focus on the needs of children and families.
“At Primrose, we’re committed to teaching our students about helping others and giving back to the community year-round with our Helping Hands program,” said Ashley Gray, owner of the Primrose School at Mountainside. “Not only were we able to raise funds for a great community cause, but our Spring Fling event also gave local families an opportunity to come together in a fun and exciting way.”
The event was held at the school and featured carnival games, open play on the school's four playgrounds, face painting, sports activities, a silent auction and more.
Funding raised for the Primrose Children’s Foundation will be used to support Reach Out and Read and Save the Children. Reach Out and Read donations will come back to the local community through the organization’s network of local physicians who provide books to patients to improve literacy. Save the Children donations will be used to reach those children who are in the greatest need in poor rural communities throughout our country
Giving back to the community was a major focus of the event and a key component of Primrose Schools’ exclusive Balanced Learning® System, which balances character development with academics and play, and is designed to help establish the Right Foundation to Build Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®.
