Police Nab Napping Driver Blocking Intersection

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ—A driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel in the middle of Centre Street and South Orange Avenue was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Henry Cook, 36, of Orange, was arrested after police found his vehicle blocking traffic at the intersection at 1 a.m. on Feb. 6.
In other police news:

Stavros Moisiades, 20, of Norwalk, Conn., was charged with simple assault after police responded to an apartment complex at 212 South Orange Ave. Police reported the man had damaged a window, which resulted in an injury to another person.

Several instances of theft are under investigation. These include the theft of a bicycle from Sloan Street at 5 p.m. on Feb. 5, the theft of a wallet from a Seton Hall University residence hall room on Feb. 6, and the theft of an iPod from a backpack at the Community Center on Feb. 7. Police said the wallet was later found on campus and turned in to campus security.
- Police are also investigating the theft of money and two firearms from a South Orange Avenue apartment between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 4. There were no signs of forced entry.
