Police Investigating Criminal Mischief at Salt Brook School

7-29-13 – Patrolman David Rodriguez arrested Alberto Delnegro, 52, of Scotch Plains on outstanding warrants
out of Union Township and Fanwood Borough. The warrants were located during a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Avenue. He was released after posting bail.
8-5-13 – Patrols responded to Salt Brook School on a report of criminal mischief. The school administration
reported that a newly installed shed was damaged by several juveniles. During the investigation, several
juveniles are seen on surveillance footage destroying the shed on July 28 upon identification of the juveniles. Witnesses to this incident are requested to contact the New Providence Police Department at 908-665-1111.
8-6-13 – Corporal Chad Wilson arrested Hal Biermann, 53, of Chatham on an outstanding warrant out of
Springfield. The warrant was located during a motor vehicle stop on River Road after he was observed on his
cell phone on Passaic Street. He was released after posting bail.
8-7-13 – A contractor working on Maple Street reported that someone damaged a parked backhoe belonging
to his company. The contractor advised patrols that the backhoe’s tire was slashed and the rear window was
shattered by an unknown object. Any witnesses to the damage are requested to contact the New Providence
Police at 908-665-1111.
8-7-13 – Sergeant Robert Carroll charged Samuel George, 19, of Randolph with soliciting without a permit.
Mr. George was going door to door soliciting residents to pave their driveways.
8-8-13 – A Parsippany resident reported that his smartphone device valued at $600.00 was stolen from the first
floor of a Mountain Avenue business. The detective bureau is investigating this report.
8-8-13 – A Commonwealth Avenue resident reported that two Adirondack chairs were stolen from her front yard.
8-12-13 – Two residents of Gales Drive reported that cash was stolen from their rooms sometime on August 9
and 11. The detective bureau is investigating the report.
8-13-13 – Corporal Chad Wilson charged Meredith Farrington, 24, of Basking Ridge with possession of drug
paraphernalia. The charges were filed after an investigation during a motor vehicle stop for blocking traffic at a
green light. She was charged with several motor vehicle violations and was released with a pending court date.
8-14-13 – Corporal Chad Wilson charged Brittney Fishinger, 23, of Matawan with possession of heroin, drug
paraphernalia and hindering apprehension. The charges were filed after a motor vehicle stop on Springfield
Avenue when she provided the officer with a fraudulent name to prevent him from locating a warrant out of Old
Bridge. During the arrest, Corporal Wilson located syringes and wax folds believed to contain heroin in her
possession. She was released with a pending court date.
