Photos Welcomed for Essex Photo Club and NJ Federation of Camera Clubs Competitions in Caldwell

CALDWELL, NJ - Meeting in the Caldwell Community Center, the Essex Photo Club will depart from its normal agenda on Thursday, Nov. 7 and 21, to present two photographic competitions, one of them featuring the best pictorial images taken by members of the more than 20 clubs making up the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs. Both meetings will start at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public without charge. The community center is located at 1 Provost Square, Caldwell.

The club will hold its own monthly judging on Thursday Nov. 7; Vinnie Kempf of the Ridgewood Camera Club will be offering the critiques that are a feature of the club contests. As part of the club’s on-going instructional efforts, an assessment of other images will also take place.
Awards will be given in five categories:
- Beginner pictorial images
- Advanced pictorial images
- Beginner nature projected images
- Advanced nature projected images
Federation Pictorial Contest
The Federation Pictorial Contest will take place at the Nov. 21 meeting and will will feature Brien Szabo, one of the state’s foremost outdoor professional photographers and Klaus-Dieter Schleim, a North Jersey pictorialist, as the judges. Dr. Stephen Kamin of Cedar Grove, the Caldwell club’s representative to the federation, made the arrangements enabling Essex Photo Club to host the competition.
