Peck Congratulates Headmaster on New Position

The Peck School announced on Friday, February 8, that John J. Kowalik, Headmaster of The Peck School in Morristown, New Jersey, will be accepting a new position as Head of School at The Potomac School in McLean, VA.
For almost 30 years Mr. Kowalik has served as a teacher, coach, and dynamic leader at two of the most outstanding independent schools in the nation. During his ten years as Headmaster of The Peck School, Mr. Kowalik steadily grew the Schools reputation and rigorous academic program, he cultivated its nationally recognized character formation initiative, and, among many other achievements, he is responsible for the completion of the Schools largest capital campaign realizing the construction of two new buildings on campus.
Henry Klehm III, President of Pecks Board of Trustees, said, "As the leader of the School, John has been an inspiring Headmaster. He has set a high bar for his own performance every year, and, in staying focused on the Schools mission, made every one of ustrustees, administrators, faculty, and staffstrive to do our very best for the entire Peck community."
Prior to joining The Peck School, Mr. Kowalik was Assistant Headmaster at Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey. He also served as Athletic Director, taught Advanced Placement European History, and was a successful football coach, compiling a 138-29 record in 16 seasons, including two state championships and nine conference championships. Mr. Kowaliks education includes the Executive Management Program at Dartmouths Tuck Business School; an M.A. in Educational Administration from Columbia University; and a B.A. in Political Science from Williams College. He is a past trustee of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.
