PLAINFIELD, NJ – Middlesex County College Freshman basketball player Quorea Pearyer is racking up the awards after an impressive first college season.
Last month, she was selected as a second-team All American for Division III, and this week the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame requested her jersey to hang in their Ring of Honor over the next year.
Pearyer, who lives in Plainfield, attended Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, where she was a standout guard. In her freshman college season, Pearyer started all 27 games, and averaged 24 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two and a half steals per game. She is known for playing well on offense and defense.
The Ring of Honor is in the back rotunda of the Hall of Fame building in Knoxville, Tenn. Each year, more than 100 standout high school and college basketball players are selected for their excellent play and achievements of the past season to have their uniform jersey hang for a year.
“Not only does the Ring of Honor provide a colorful backdrop to the Hall of Fame’s many archives, but it is also our way of recognizing some young basketball players for their achievements in the sport,” he wrote. “Without a doubt, Quorea Pearyer is definitely a part of an elite group, and a part of history now too.”
Her brother Jaquan Pearyer also plays basketball for the Blue Colts.
