Animals play an important role in the lives of many people.. Of the millions of American households that have a pet, most people think of their pets as members of the family. Companion animals affect the activity level, health, mood and social interaction of individuals of all ages – impacting our lives in a positive way. But today’s economy has left many pets without a home. The Humane Society of the United States estimates that between 6-8 million dogs and cats are living in animal shelter care each year. With all that our pets do for us, Peapack-Gladstone Bank is taking strides to give back to these animals that have found themselves homeless through its Four Paws Pet Supply Drive..
Between September 24 and October 20, Peapack-Gladstone Bank will be accepting donations for homeless cats and dogs at its Middlesex, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset and Union county locations to benefit St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. St. Hubert’s is dedicated to the animal-human bond operating shelters in Madison and North Branch, New Jersey. Many of St. Hubert’s innovative programs for animals and people serve as models for other organizations across the country. St. Hubert’s efforts include pet adoption and animal rescue, animal assisted therapy, humane education, dog training and pet loss support. Items such as cat and dog food, litter, toys, collars, leashes, cleaning products or any new pet-related item will be collected.
So the next time you are out and about, take a stroll around the pet aisle, or check your closets for new or gently used towels, blankets, sheets and quilts. Then stop and deposit your donation into a collection bin at any one of Peapack-Gladstone Bank’s branches. A person is the best thing that can happen to a shelter pet. Be that person. Together we can change the life of a homeless pet – one tail at a time.
