Pathways Announces Annual Appeal

The Connection is asking members and friends to help support Pathways in their Annual Appeal. With Breast Cancer Awareness Month just around the corner, please consider supporting local women in the community through Pathways.
Pathways, a program of The Connection for Women and Families, provides support, education and wellness programs for women with cancer, creating a community in which shared experiences lead to personal growth and healing. Pathways is committed to empowering women to recognize their strengths and encouraging them to make choices that enable them to become their own self-care advocates. Programs are available free of charge to female cancer survivors.
Help keep these programs and support groups free to all local survivors. Pathways relies on donations to run free wellness programs to help women recover from their rigorous treatment and support groups to connect them with others who have shared the same journey.
Donations to Pathways support programs such as The Women’s Cancer Teaching Project, a one of a kind educational program conducted by cancer survivors for residents, nurses and other healthcare professionals that help the medical community get an intimate glimpse into patient’s personal experiences and gain a better understanding of the impact of a cancer diagnosis on patients and families.
Donations help buy food used to create delicious, healthy meals lovingly prepared and delivered by volunteers to women in treatment and their families.
Pathways relies on donations to support the salaries of class instructors, who are specially trained to work with cancer patients; always keeping the unique needs of this population in mind.
Donations offer women an opportunity to embrace life after cancer though their participation in the only local cancer survivor dragon boat team in New Jersey.
“We may be small fish in a large sea, but your donation is what makes it possible for us to have a huge impact on women who call, needing the kind of support only Pathways offers”, says Michele Visco, Pathways Director. “The needs are so many, and our resources so limited. Please make a donation today, knowing with confidence that your money is directly impacting those who need your help the most”.
