PATERSON, NJ - Wharton Music Center, a grantee of The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, has been selected as a recipient of Dodge's New Jersey Give-Back Guide for its El Sistema-Inspired Paterson Music Project. Wharton Music Center is one of four El Sistema programs in New Jersey being featured.
The Give-Back Guide is promoted by Dodge Foundation and the various guide recipients through the holiday season.
Paterson Music Project (PMP) is a music program for children at Community Charter School of Paterson, an elementary school in Paterson. Jeffrey Grogan, the Artistic Director of PMP, manages the program along with Program Coordinator Elizabeth Moulthrop.
PMP's mission is to use music as a vehicle for social change by empowering and inspiring young children through the community experience of ensemble learning and playing.
