Paterson Football Teams Have Tough Acts to Follow

PATERSON, NJ - The varisty high school football teams at Eastside and Kennedy are each coming off victories last week, but each will be challenged to sustain their success against tough opponents this weekend.
Eastside hosts Clifton tonight at 7 p.m. after defeating Passaic, 22-0, last week. Eastside's defense, which had struggled in earlier games, came together in that victory, its first of the season. Running back Marlon Ebanks scored two touchdowns and quarterback Tahj Upshaw passed for 163 yards and completed 11 of 18 passes in the victory. Clifton comes into tonight's game with a 3-3 record.
Kennedy's football team will face undefeated Passaic Tech at 1 p.m. Saturday in Paterson. Kennedy is coming off a 14-6 triumph over Ferris of Jersey City. Running back Shaon Stevenson rushed for 105 yards and two second-half TDs in that game, Kennedy's third in its last four games. Kennedy's record is 3-3 overall.
