Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens and SPFHS Students Headline 2014 Music Fest on Sunday, April 27

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Education Enrichment Foundation of Scotch Plains-Fanwood (EEF) presents 2014 Music Fest on Sunday, April 27 from noon to 5 p.m. at SPFHS’s Evergreen Field. Music Fest is a family centered music fundraiser which showcases student musicians, bands & vocalists, local bands and other music talent in a multi-generational community event.

Pat DiNizio, guitarist, vocalist and principal songwriter for platinum-selling band The Smithereens, will headline the show. DiNizio, who has also recorded four solo albums, has appeared on stages all over the world and performed on The Tonight Show, MTV Unplugged, and Saturday Night Live.

The second annual SPF-EEF Music Fest will include performances by Inskagnito, a ska band made up of some of the district’s top musicians, an All Star Superband of SPF Music Teachers, Eric Harrison’s Crash Chorus, and several student musicians and vocalists and surprise guests. Free food at 3 p.m.  Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward funding educational grants in the SPF school district.

“Last year’s inaugural concert attracted music lovers of all ages,” said Jane Costello, event chair. “We had some outstanding talent and a beautiful day. We hope even more of the community will come enjoy the music this year.”

Order tickets online or mail checks payable to "EEF of SPF," P.O. Box 621, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. Tickets will also be available at the event: $10 Adults, $5 Students and Seniors, $20 Family Fee

The Education Enrichment Foundation of Scotch Plains-Fanwood (EEF) is a volunteer organization that works with teachers, school administrators and the Board of Education to enrich and advance the cause of excellence in education for SPF students. The EEF enriches the quality of education in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood school district by focusing on student achievement & leadership, innovation in the classroom, and enhanced learning through technology.
