Pair Charged in West Orange Homicide; One Suspect Remains at Large

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Two suspects have been charged in the murder of West Orange resident Sandy Yuen, 57, who was found dead in her family's West Orange apartment on Chestnut Street on Sept. 3.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and West Orange Police Chief James Abbott made the announcement on Thursday. Carline Inginac, 21, of West Orange and Rakeem Scott, 18, of Newark, have been charged with Murder, Felony Murder, Robbery, Unlawful of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Endangering the Welfare of a Child as noted by Assistant Prosecutor Ralph E. Amirata of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit. Inginac was arrested this morning by detectives. Scott remains at large. 

Yuen was stabbed to death during a robbery while caring for her 20-month-old granddaughter, and was murdered in a robbery attempt on the morning of Sept. 3. The Essex County Major Crimes Task Force and the West Orange Police Department worked together during the investigation, with assistance from the Roseland Police Department.  Inginac is currently being held in the Essex County Correctional Facility. Her bail is set for $500,000.

Scott's bail was set at $750,000. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly asks that anyone with information about Scott's whereabouts or with information on the homicide contact Task Force detectives at (877) 847-7432 or (973) 621-4586.
