Opening Day Events for Sparta Farmers Market on Saturday

 SPARTA, NJ-Sparta Farmers Market opens on Saturday, May 31.  In addition to the farmers produce and plants there will be several specials and activities.

  • 9 a.m. Henry Masterson leads us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem Ben Del Coro Opening Remarks
  • 9:30 a.m. Music by Kevin Kinsella 
  • 10:30 a.m. Zumba offered for free by Samantha Smith and her ‘ZEEPS’
  • 11 a.m. Yoga offered for free by Margie 

Additionally several vendors are featuring specials items.

"Kittatinny Mountain Farm will have plenty of organic salad greens to get your meals off to the right start, including baby arugula, spinach and salad mix.  We will also have lots of both green curly and Toscano Kale, delicious salad turnips, radishes, bok choy, tatsoi, and rainbow chard, so stop by and say hello.”

The Hummus Boss says, "Red Alert.  It’s time to leave your house. The Hummus Boss is back with healthy, low calorie delightful specials.  We have hummus, baba ganouj, bruschettas, avocado salad, mosaaha and don't forget our chocolate chocolate chip with walnuts.”

From the Silver Birch Kitchens,  "Our specials this week will be our Wild Foraged Ramp Pesto, Teriyaki Turkey Meatballs and Byrne Dairy Glass Bottle Milk."

Jim of Rimi Studios is offering some brand new items this year. He says, "We will have hand built bowls, carved tumblers and small plant design bud vases just to name a few. Be sure to stop by and say hello.”

From May 31 through November 1, the Sparta Farmers Market will be  open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  It is located at the Sparta Municipal Building, 65 Main Street in Sparta.   http://www.spartafarmersmarket.org
