The Thursday Morning Club’s Le Bazar de Noel will return this year for a two-day Holiday Boutique, from 9:30 am to 6 pm Friday, Nov 15, and from 9:30 am to 4 pm Saturday, Nov 16, at the club’s Madison Community House, 25 Cook Ave.
Connie Rostiac and Joan Cummings, co-chairwomen, have selected 26 local artisans and exhibitors who will sell classic gift and handmade items for men, women and children just in time for holiday shopping. “The event will be the club’s largest fundraiser devoted to providing operating money for the activities of the Madison Community House this year,” said Ways and Means Chairwoman, Peggy Philp.
Judy Pearlman and Kathy Balascio promise some real finds among the large selection of new gift items donated by club members. “Members’ Treasures” will feature china, silverware, crystal, jewelry and scarves, as well as seasonal décor.
For holiday entertaining, La Patisserie will sell cookies, pies and loaf breads made by club members while Le Bistro will serve lunch made by the club’s catering department from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm each day. Doris Costello and Diana Krug are accepting two homemade items from each member while past presidents, Bernie Grohol and Carolyn Stiner are in charge of catering.
Tickets for a restaurant fund-raising event will be available. Many dining establishments in the area have donated gift certificates at the request of Mary Jane Burns, Patty Hathaway and Janet Kay.
“The 249 members of the Thursday Morning Club who own and operate the Madison Community House are very proud of the services it provides for the community,” said Janet Allocco, director of the Community House. “Visitors to Le Bazar de Noel will have the opportunity to not only purchase gifts but to see the newly expanded facility decorated in the club’s holiday tradition,” added Michal Holzman, president.
The Thursday Morning Club, a social and philanthropic organization, owns and operates the Madison Community House, Nursery School, and Before and After School Child Care program and provides a meeting place for the town’s various sports, recreational and civic groups.
