NJ Released From No Child Left Behind Requirements

TRENTON, NJ - New Jersey is among 10 states for which the Obama administration has lifted the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind law, according to a story on nj.com.
Paterson has six schools that had been characterized as failing under the federal law.
New Jersey gained the federal government's blessing to implement its own reform program by submitting a detailed blueprint on how it would improve students performance in struggling schools, including an overhaul of the tenure system and changes in the practice of using seniority as the sole factor in determining which teachers lose their jobs in layoffs, the story.
