WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Nikhil Badlani Foundation has been hard at work supporting National Youth Traffic Safety month, and on May 17 they unveiled their latest effort to protect children at the corner of Alisa Drive and Pleasant Valley Way. Specially designed reflective strips have been added to ten stop signs around West Orange High School.

The strips, which say "Drive Smart - Save a Life" the motto of the foundation, "are highly reflective both during the day and night, when they take on an illuminated appearance," said Will Varzab, a member of the Board of Directors.

"We're placing ten strips on stop signs around the high school," said Sangeeta Badlani. "Studies have shown they really help."

In addition to West Orange, South Orange and Maplewood are receiving ten each of the NBF reflective strips, funded by the foundation.

"Last week, the Foundation launched their National Youth Traffic Safety Month with a PSA  advertising artwork designed by students from 3 schools on NJ Transit train stations and light rails and buses."

On Thursday, May 22, at 7:00 pm, the annual Concert for Nikhil, featuring musical performances by West Orange students in the music for Nikhil program, will be held at Liberty Middle School, 1 Kelly Drive. The concert celebrates Nikhil's love of music, the second component of the foundation's efforts. All are welcome to attend.
