MADISON, NJ - For over 25+ years, Brenda Suler, President and Owner of Nicholas F. Rizzo Fine Arts of Chatham, has been providing space in her frame shop and gallery for various art forms and exhibits approximately four times a year.

“It gives us great satisfaction when we can support the arts in various schools in our area like Madison especially when scholarships are involved, “ said Ms. Suler.

The Madison Montessori School presents “Counting on Creativity” through Friday at her shop and gallery.  These pieces collaborated by local artists and the children of the school, partner art with mathematics in inventive ways.  From shapes, patterns, symmetry, measurement, equation and theories, the children learn that math is everywhere and the reality of their learning can be witnessed in their works of mosaics, embroidery, stamping, canvas, metallics, gems, wood, digital printing and more.  (see photos)

All works will be sold at Montessori’s private, silent auction this Friday evening, and Nicholas F. Rizzo Fine Arts will house the artwork until Saturday at which point the students will visit the exhibit and experience a real gallery with their projects on the walls.  Brenda Suler said, “It’s priceless watching the kids witnessing their display.  They get to enjoy some goodie bags and a personal art portfolio they’ve created throughout the school year as well which is separate from those auctioned off.  They really have a fun time, and it’s good to see.”

Since the inception of the Genuine Art program, the Madison Montessori School has raised over $300,000 to generate funds for the MMS Scholarship Fund.  Proceeds are also donated from one particular work of art by Seth Ruggles Hiler and their 9:30 a.m.  kindergarten class to benefit a very special fund to the school as well – The Benjamin Robert Wieler Scholarship fund.
