The National Honor Society, a group of 25 seniors, has started off this year helping the community in various ways. A group worked at the Senior Center cleaning and polishing the kitchen. Several members worked at the Taste of South Plainfield, filling in as servers for restaurants that donated food. Kennedy School called on the members to help in various ways at their “Outdoor Movie Night.” The National Honor Society is collecting ink cartridges of all kinds to help raise funds. If you have any used cartridges to donate, please leave them in the drop box, 111 Borman Road.
The students are very excited about upgrades in the high school this year, especially the expanded iPad program and the overhead mounted projector screens in most classrooms. In addition, two parking have been designated for the Rotary Students of the Month.
If you come to an event in the gym, you will surely notice the new floor, which was complete in September; a few weeks after school began. There is a Tiger mascot in the center of the floor; there are improved mountings for volley ball nets as well as for gymnastics equipment.
We are looking forward to a great 2013-2014 school year.
Coming Up Next Column: Homecoming, The Powder Puff Football Game and more.
