New Providence Resident Reported Suspicious Caller Asking for Bank Account Information

01-18-2012- Patrolman Michael Scuorzo charged Cassandra Saul, age 29, of Maplewood with driving while suspended and operating a vehicle without insurance after a random license plate inquiry revealed that her license was suspended.

01-23-2012- A resident responded to police headquarters to report that her son’s Iphone was stolen from a locked school locker.  Patrols were able to track the phone through the phone’s GPS and located it at another juvenile’s residence.  The phone was returned to the owner and the suspect was released to his mother pending juvenile complaints for the burglary.

01-25-2012- Corporal Daniel Henn charged Sabine Malley, age 40, of Westfield with driving while suspended after a random license plate inquiry revealed the suspension.

01-25-2012- A resident on Marion Avenue reported a suspicious phone call from a woman asking for her bank account number.  The suspect advised the resident that her husband’s medical card was in and during the conversation asked for the account number.  The caller then hung up after the resident began to question the caller.  The suspicious phone call is currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

01-25-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Michaelmi Saleh, age 25, of Newark on outstanding warrants and charged him with driving while suspended.  Mr. Saleh’s vehicle was stopped after a random license plate inquiry revealed his license was suspended.  Bail was posted for Mr. Saleh and he was released pending court dates.

01-26-2012- Corporal Steven Opalewski charged Norman Junge, age 44, of Piscataway with driving while suspended after his vehicle was stopped for not having a name on a commercial vehicle.  Mr. Junge was issued a summons for diving while suspended and the business was issued a summons for no name on a commercial vehicle.
