07-08-2014:  Patrolman Thomas Hoppe arrested Thomas Anderson, age 39, of Hoboken on an outstanding warrant out of Ocean City after his vehicle was stopped for equipment violations.  He was released after posting bail and issued summonses for the violations.

 

07-09-2014:  Patrolman Thomas Hoppe arrested James Commey, age 54, of Orange on an outstanding warrant out of Newark after his vehicle was stopped for equipment violations.  He was released after posting bail.

 

07-09-2014:  Patrolman Thomas Hoppe arrested Abdulqadi English, age 34, of East Orange for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace after the police department received numerous complaints of Mr. English screaming and cursing while in several businesses in the center of town.  Mr. English was arrested and released pending a court date.

 

On 07-09-2014, a business owner reported that an individual posing as an employee of JCP&L called him to advise him that his bill was past due and if he did not pay the bill within thirty minutes then his power would be shut off.  The suspect told the owner that he could either go to the power company’s Morristown office to pay the bill or pay the bill immediately over the phone with Money Pak cards.  The suspect advised the victim to purchase three $500.00 Money Pak cards and then call him back to give him the card numbers.  The business owner complied and later called the power company to confirm that he had a past due bill.  He found out after calling the power company that he had been scammed.  Another business owner also reported this scam but contacted the power company directly before buying the Money Pak cards.  The New Providence Detective Bureau is currently investigating the fraud.

 

07-15-2014:  Patrolman David Rodriguez arrested Kamall E. Moore, age 21, of Plainfield on outstanding warrants out of Plainfield and Fanwood.  Mr. Moore was processed and turned over to the Plainfield Police Department.

 

 

07-16-2014:  Patrolman David Rodriguez arrested Daniel F. Reider, age 22, of Hoboken on an outstanding warrant out of East Brunswick after a random license plate inquiry revealed the warrant. The inquiry also revealed that Mr. Reider’s license was suspended.  Mr. Reider was released after posting the bail and given a mandatory court date in the New Providence Municipal Court.

 

07-16-2014:  Detective Donald Sretenovic charged Kimberly Chrabolowski, age 48, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania with theft by unlawful means of conveyance after an investigation was completed into the theft of over $18,000.00 from a borough organization.  This organization handles the finances of a youth sports agency which pays for sporting events and competitions.  The theft was reported by the business owner who is also a member of the organization.  It was reported that Mrs. Chrabolowski stole from the organization while holding the title of treasurer.  Mrs. Chrabolowski was charged and given a mandatory Union County Superior Court date.

 

07-17-2014:  A Mountain Avenue business manager reported the theft of the business’ external generator which was hooked up to a trailer.  The theft occurred between 4:00 am on 07-13-2014 and 4:00 pm on 07-15-2014.  The generator was a fully fueled diesel Terex T270.  The detective bureau is currently investigating the theft.
