7-25-2012 – Detective Bubb charged three women after a lengthy investigation into a report of over $4,500 worth of damage done to a 2011 BMW belonging to a resident of Springfield Avenue.  The resident also reported that she had received threatening and harassing text messages and phone calls from the same individuals that damaged her vehicle.  Ana Branco, 29, of Elizabeth was charged with criminal mischief and terroristic threats.  Christina Nunes, 28, of Union and Stephanie Bustillo, 26, of Harrison were charged with criminal mischief.  All three were released after being processed with a pending court date.

7-26-2012 – An elderly resident reported that she received a phone call from a man with a Caribbean accent asking for her bank account information.  When she picked up the phone, the man identified her and confirmed her address.  He then advised her that she would be receiving a new social security card with a new number and that he needed her banking information to update the deposit of her social security check.  The resident determined it to be a scam and hung up before giving away any further information. 

7-27-12 – Corporal Jason Labaska arrested Artem Yevtushenko, 22, of New Providence on an outstanding warrant out of Spring Lake Municipal Court.  After posting bail, Mr. Yevtushenko was released.

7-27-12 – Patrols responded to Lincoln Field on a report of numerous acts of vandalism.  Sometime between the hours of 7 PM on 7-26-12 and 11 PM on 7-27-12.  Black spray paint was located on the basketball court, benches, swing set and baseball field storage box.  If anyone may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact the New Providence Police at 908-665-1111.

7-28-12 – A Candlewood Drive resident reported that sometime during the early morning hours of the day, someone had smeared some type of food product on the front side of his residence and the roof.  The resident also reported that someone had thrown eggs and possibly poured a substance on his flowers.

7-29-12 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged James Young, 36, of New Providence with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.  The charges stem from a report by a citizen of a motor vehicle crash that had struck a telephone pole on Central Avenue.  The vehicle, driven by Mr. Young, was attempting to leave the scene with severe front end damage and with air bags deployed as patrols were arriving.  Mr. Young was released to a family member with a pending court date.

7-29-12 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Jay Williams, 42, of Plainfield on an outstanding warrant out of North Plainfield.  The warrant was located after a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Road.  Mr. Williams was also charged with driving while suspended.  He was released to the North Plainfield Police Department.

7-30-12 – Patrols responded to a Passaic Street address on a report of several suspicious males standing in a driveway called in by a concerned neighbor that was watching the residence.  During patrols investigation into the incident, several more individuals in the basement of the home.   As patrols entered the basement, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana.  A 17 year old male was taken into protective custody for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.  Charges for the other juveniles are pending.  All juveniles were released to parents or guardians.

7-31-12 – Patrolman Michael Scuorzo charged Diane Davis, 25, of Elizabeth with operating a vehicle with a suspended license, suspended registration and for operating the vehicle with no insurance.  The charges stem from a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Road.

8-1-12 – Crestview Swim Club reported that sometime during the night, someone had entered the property and caused damage to the property.  Reported damaged was a well valve, sprinklers and damaged the surface to the tennis courts.  The detective bureau is investigating this report.  If anyone may have witnessed this incident please contact the New Providence Police at 908-665-1111.

8-5-12 – A 16 year old juvenile female was taken into protective custody after patrols located her walking at 4:17AM on Central Avenue by herself.  She was released to a parent.

8-6-12- Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Adrian Byramji, 31, of Boonton during a motor vehicle stop on Springfield Avneue on an outstanding warrant out of Parsippany and Sparta Municipal Courts.  Mr. Byramji was released after posting bail.
