New Providence Pioneers Crush Dayton Bulldogs 43-0
Saturday, September 22, 2012 • 9:03am
UNION, NJ - The New Providence Pioneers crushed the Dayton Bulldogs 43-0 on Friday night in Union.
New Providence marched into the game with two wins under their belt and were determined to replicate last season's string of victories that brought them to the State Semi Finals.
The Dayton Bulldogs were looking for their first win but New Providence proved to be too strong on offense racking up 43 points by the end of the first half. Their defense was just as effective in holding Dayton to a scoreless game.
New Providence scored on their first possession and recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff for another score. With three minutes left in the first quarter New Providence had already put up 22 points on the scoreboard.
Dayton struggled to move the ball on offense and never crossed the fifty yard line to advance to their own territory.
New Providence took the opportunity to season their JV squad by starting them in the second quarter of the game. Although the JV squad remained scoreless in the second half, their defense denied the Bulldogs any opportunity to score.
Players scoring for New Providence included Derek Singer, Michael Felezzola, Vinny Sidoli, and Erik Wehner.
